About Us
Who We Are
Founded in 2024, The Scottish Venison Company is a collaboration between harvesting professionals who manage delicate ecosystems in some of Scotland’s most rural areas and butchery specialists. Anne-Marie oversees our purpose-built butchery in Aberdeenshire, where our butchery team, led by her brother John Andrew, prepares each cut. Anne-Marie & John have over 30 years’ experience in preparing Venison meat and John is a third generation butcher, following on from his father & grandfather.
Our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices means that every cut of venison we offer comes from wild, free-roaming deer, harvested with care and respect in the wilds of the Scottish countryside.

Our Values
Our unique approach focuses on sustainability and ethics, as well as taste. The meat is naturally free from chemicals and has numerous documented health benefits, as well as being a pure source of lean protein. The Scottish wild deer herd grazes on a natural diet of grasses, acorns, chestnuts, tree shoots and berries, which contributes to the meat’s superior taste.
We harvest and process each animal in its natural habitat, keeping our environmental footprint to a minimum. Our supply chain is tightly controlled, and our products are never farmed, offering a more authentic and responsible alternative to mass-produced meats.
At The Scottish Venison Company, we stand for authenticity, purity, inspiration, and education, bringing premium Scottish Wild Venison to your kitchen with respect for nature and a passion for quality.

Our Founder
Anne-Marie, our founder, has been involved in marketing & selling Scottish Wild Venison since she first helped out with the family business in her teens, during the 1990’s. Anne-Marie explains, “ Over the years, I have talked about Scottish Wild Venison with countless professional chefs and consumers, but I feel that we’re finally seeing a shift toward consumers understanding the nutritious and environmental benefits of eating Wild Venison, as well as appreciating the meat for its superior taste”.
